Pastor David K. Jones                                   

 

 Pastor David K. Jones was born the last of ten children in Chicago, Illinois. A Chicago native, Pastor Jones grew up in a family with a strong commitment to Christian faith and service; As a result, he loves discussing spirituality, the heart of God and how He impacts lives. He also loves spending time with family, friends and the community. Pastor Jones graduated from Andersonville Theological Seminary, with his Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies (Oct. 2012). He is currently working on his Master of Ministry degree, and received an Honorary Doctorate in Ministerial Ministry in 2016; Pastor Jones is also licensed in Street Ministries (June 2008); Community Development Transformation (March 2008) and has his DHS Day Care training License (June 2009). He is a Certified Deputy Sheriff (2002) for the State of Mississippi, and currently is serving in the Moss Point Police Department as a Chaplain and Reserve Officer. Pastor Jones has served the church in the following capacities: As the interim pastor in the following Mississippi Districts: 1st the Sherwood & Orion SDA Church District; than the Morning Star & First Church, Port Gibson SDA Church District. He has developed and spearheaded several ministry services for the people he has served – To name a few: Monthly Family & Friend Day; Friday night Bible Studies, New Revelation Amazing Facts (Doug Batchelor); four-day Revivals. He is also the CEO of his own security company – JP Customer Protection Service, and enjoys serving the customers and citizens of Jackson, MS in this capacity. The Executive Committee voted to reassign Pastor Jones, to the Fayette/Natchez/Woodville, MS district full-time on October 25, 2020. Pastor Jones is married to Mrs. Shelia D. Jones, and is the proud father of David and Davida Jones and Keathia and Leisha; and the proud grandfather to: Angel (6yrs.), Ivy (8 yrs.) and Cara (4). His children fulfill his life and he loves being a father and mentor. Pastor Jones is a man of Faith and states that the journey has taught him, among many things, to have a greater trust in the grace and provision of God. He hopes to continue learning how to lean on the faithfulness of God in all the paths of his life. He is very grateful for the life that God has given him and for the opportunity to serve. Pastor Jones finds this to be a community of faith and he is committed to being transformed by the reconciling gospel of peace and to following Christ in all of life. We are all called to be ministers of God's love in this world.
